Recipient groups and the grid filter
Vault and settings — Recipient groups and the grid filter
Where: Tools → Recipient groups, and the group list above the key store grid.
Groups are labels in the vault (Financial, Technical, Sales). They are not OpenPGP user IDs.
Create a group
- Open Recipient groups.
- Type a group name.
- Choose Add. The name box should clear.
- Select the group.
- Check the keys that belong in it.
- Choose Save members. You should see a notice that members were saved.
- Repeat for more groups.
Names are not case-sensitive (sales and Sales are the same idea). Use plain words you will recognize in the filter.
Filter the grid
On the key store:
- All groups — every key
- Ungrouped — keys with no group
- A named group — only members
Find / Cancel search is separate. Search looks at text in the grid; the group list limits which rows are candidates.
Both groups can exist on the groups page even if only one showed in the filter until you saved members and reopened the filter — Save members, then look at the filter list again.
CSV import
Bulk import can set a group column. That is the same kind of label as here.
If it fails
- Added a group but it is missing from the filter — Save members and reopen the key store or the filter list.
- Name still in the add box — Add should clear it; delete leftover text before Add again.
- Expected grouping by algorithm — groups are only the names you create, not automatic keywords inside the key.

Meet the key store for colors and Find. Watch folder if you also set an optional group there.
