Keys and operations — Key ceremony sheet

Where: Tools → Key ceremony sheet (or Keys, selected key).

A ceremony sheet is a printable record so two people can confirm a fingerprint. It is not a CA certificate and not a substitute for Properties.

What is on the sheet

  • Product title and copyright line
  • User ID
  • Key ID
  • Fingerprint
  • Algorithm and size
  • Created / valid until
  • Two operator lines: name, date, fingerprint-match checkbox
  • A bar at the bottom of the page

QR in the program is separate; print the sheet when you need ink-on-paper sign-off.

Print one key

  1. Select the key in the store.
  2. Open the ceremony sheet.
  3. Confirm the fingerprint matches Properties.
  4. Print.

Print many / by group

Use the sheet command that prints all keys or only a group. That is the right path when you have more than one key to check. Do not print one-at-a-time if you have a full group to inventory.

How to use it

  1. Two operators each compare the printed fingerprint to the owner’s copy.
  2. Tick the match box and sign.
  3. File the paper with your key procedures.
  4. Only then set Verified in the store if your process says so.

If it fails

  • Empty user ID on the sheet — use Key ID and fingerprint; the name may be blank.
  • Brackets wrapping oddly — use a current build; the footer bar should sit at the bottom.
  • Need the public key in a phone — use QR, not the ceremony sheet.
